Ads appearing on this website may be delivered by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you.
We use the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. Amazon may serve content and advertisements, collect information directly from you, and place or recognize cookies on your browsers. Amazon provides us with a list of products purchased as a result of a session started by clicking an Amazon widget on our site. However, we do not get any personally identifiable information.
Similarly, we also use the Google Affiliate Network. Google Affiliate Network (GAN) allows publishers to earn revenue on a cost-per-action basis for delivering qualified conversions (purchases or other qualified actions) to participating advertisers.
We use Google Analytics to collect non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how our visitors use this website.
The Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on does not prevent information from being sent to the website itself or in other ways to web analytics services.
If you choose to enroll in our mailing list, we will collect your email address and first name (if you provide it) for the purpose of sending you an informational email newsletter from time-to-time. We will not sell your email address to any third party other than the email list provider.
We also collect potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, user name, and email addresses for users leaving comments on our sites. We reserve the right to email you to answer or comment on the comment that you left on our site. Your email address will not be placed on a mailing list or be sold to a third party.
Comment Spam Filter
This site uses the Akismet spam filter provided by Automattic. Automattic may use spam screened by the Akismet service to help identify spam. Automattic may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Automattic does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
Comments and other content submitted to the Akismet anti-spam service are not saved on Automattic’s servers unless they were marked as false positives, in which case they store them long enough to use them to improve the service to avoid future false positives.
Social Media Widgets
Our Websites include social media features, like the Facebook Like and Google+ buttons. These features may collect information about your IP address and which page you’re visiting on our site, and they may set a cookie to make sure the feature functions properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our site. Your interactions with those features are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.
