Hi Rich, good point, you are totally correct! I suppose a more robust solution would be to set a cookie. This was just something quick and dirty. Let me know if you find a cookie solution, or I’ll post it if I ever get around to it. – Brian

Hi – with the php solution, does it not fall down by the fact that I navigate round my own site, using the links that everyone else does, and therefore deeper clicks than the initial bookmark would not have the extended url? I’m hoping you’re going to tell me I’m wrong and tell me why! Thanks!

you can use jquery ajax and php… Send request to your php code then return data as json.

Hi Chetan,

Thank you for your question. You are talking about mobile websites. PhoneGap allows you to make NATIVE mobile apps, for example, one that would go in the iTunes store. You are correct that you don’t need PhoneGap if you just want to make a mobile website, which would work with all smart phones.

Hi Brian,

I am Confused about PhoneGap.

What I can do with PhoneGap, I can easily do with jQuery Mobile. Then why I should even bother about PhoneGap

What I understood about PhoneGap that I can upload my Source Files to build.phonegap.com & as Output I will get my Application working across devices.

But few months ago, I developed Website using jQuery Mobile dt time I don’t know about PhoneGap

Any Suggestion/Comment highly appreciated.
